Lara McLachlan - Bsc. M. Phil. MISCP. Bobath Trained

I’m Lara and I have established Go Physio because I feel that if you have concerns about any aspect of your child’s wellbeing

you want to be able to address these as quickly as possible with someone who is specifically qualified and experienced in

working with children.

I qualified with a BSC in Physiotherapy in 1990 and began my career at St. James Hospital in Leeds before returning home to Glasgow in 1993. It was then that I began to specialise in Pediatrics and gained invaluable experience working in schools, nurseries and child development centers with children who varied in diagnosis from neurological, developmental, neuromuscular and orthopaedic.

In 1996 I had the golden opportunity to take the Bobath course in London which is renowned for its specialist approach to working with children who have neurological conditions.

In 1998 I hit the books again and gained an M. Phil. in Psychology before going on to study counseling. Yorkhill Hospital for

Sick Children beckoned in 2000. It was here that I was able to work in Neurology and primarily treat children with acute head injuries as well as assessing and treating kids with newly diagnosed neurological conditions. It was challenging work, but ultimately rewarding.

Throughout this time I took every opportunity to further my knowledge and abilities by taking numerous courses, and being involved in setting standards of therapy input for brain injured children based on current research.

In 2007 I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to move over to Ireland with my family and we are very happily settled here since then.

If there is anything I can do to help, or even if you just want a chat, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

I very much look forward to meeting you and your child, and to working with you in the future.
